Why did you create this piece? What does it communicate?
With the word home, various emotions and opinions arise. For some, home is comfort, the place where they can leave their worries, feed their dreams, and rest their ideas and conflicts. For others it can mean the complete opposite, the fun is on the street and when they enter the personal space they feel that the presence of their being can be overwhelming and the pure and raw reality settles too quickly in the present time. For me, home is something deep, not always easy, and not always difficult.
When I think about its meaning, the idea of personal growth comes to mind. These walls have seen me grow. They know all the moments of difficulties and joys. I see the house as a museum with many rooms, where there is a common floor for all of them because it represents the same individual who will go through them, but each one has a different depth and a specific theme of each moment experienced. This museum is not closed, there are two openings where you can see two hands trying to get inside. They represent adult life, that moment when we have to enter the job market, some more lightly, through invitations and reception ceremonies, others more aggressively and violently, where it seems that these hands grab us and pull us from our comfort and personal life. The path that is taken through the museum's rooms, will lead to a black background, which means the uncertainty of the future, the unknown. We walk forward, but we never see the end of our path while we are doing it, we only envision what it might represent.

For Bounty Hunters Poster Call

The use of the Poster, a format with enormous communication potential and interesting historical background, has evolved alongside a discussion of its presence in a context of a museum. Meaning that there is an ongoing debate about the treatment that posters should have as objects exhibited in a museum, being sometimes treated as a work of art, contrary to their initial street art nature. Considered an important format in the graphic design world, the poster is currently used to promote events, in particular music festivals, due to its effective communication characteristics. In order to validate and demonstrate the importance of this communication form, I developed a striking and inviting language with the aim of breaking the so-called "4th wall" ("conceptual barrier between those presenting some kind of communication and those receiving it") creating a connection and interaction with the spectator who will be in contact with the object, almost like an intervention. The main focus is to recognize and acknowledge the existence of the public and speak directly to them, breaking down the barrier of a fictional world, breaking the museum formality by emphasizing the component of the exhibition on the street, characteristic of the poster, generating a symbiotic relationship between the spectator, the creator (in this case, designer), and the environment around. The poster is calling and interacting with the public which ceases to be a mere observer. How should a poster communicate today, given the distraction of the digital world? Bearing in mind the entire Sandeman legacy, started by George Sandeman in 1790 and continued to the present day, and his constant desire to elevate the brand, emphasizing the marking of the initials SC (George Sandeman & CO) on the barrels in 1805, the fight of defense against fraud after the protection of the word 'port' in England in 1914, the affirmation as pioneers in bottling, labeling and advertising their wines and the creation of their iconic brand image, the poster created aims to honor through the graphic creation of an illustration that uses all the elements belonging to the brand and evoking for a scenario Caves Sandeman intends to celebrate the entire journey of the brand to the present day through the Sandeman imaginary.
